Douse Alerts — text messaging program
Last updated: September 2026
Douse is a personal finance tool that monitors bank transactions and delivers spending alerts. This page describes the “Douse Alerts” text messaging program operated by Douse Technologies LLC at douse.app — what we send, who receives it, how consent is collected, and how to stop messages.
1. Messages we send
Support-person invitation
Sent once, when a Douse user adds someone as their support person.
Frequency: One message per invitation.
Sample: “Douse: Ala added you as their support person. Accept: https://douse.app/i/aB3dEf Reply HELP for info, STOP to opt out”
Spending activity alert
Sent to a support person who has accepted an invitation, when the user they support has spending activity matching that user’s chosen alert settings.
Frequency: Varies with the user’s settings and activity. Typically fewer than 10 messages per month; there is no fixed schedule.
Sample: “Douse: $25.00 spending detected. Weekly total: $90.00. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
Account verification code
Sent to the account holder’s own phone number when they enable text-message two-factor authentication and each time they sign in.
Frequency: Only in response to an action the account holder takes.
Sample: “Your Douse verification code is 471926.”
We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages of any kind.
2. How consent is collected
Account verification codes
The account holder enters their own mobile number in Settings and enables text-message two-factor authentication. The consent disclosure is shown on that screen before the number is submitted. Codes are sent only in response to an action the account holder takes. Two-factor authentication by text is optional — an authenticator app is available instead.
Support-person invitations and alerts
A support person is someone a Douse user chooses to share spending alerts with. Consent is collected in two steps:
- The user enters that person’s name and mobile number in the Douse app and confirms that they have the person’s permission to send them a text. The consent disclosure — program name, message frequency, message and data rates, STOP and HELP instructions, and links to these terms — is displayed on that form before the number is submitted.
- The support person receives a single invitation text containing an accept link and STOP and HELP instructions. No further messages are sent unless they open that link and accept. If they never accept, or reply STOP, the invitation is the only message they receive.
A support person can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, by pausing alerts from their own dashboard, or by emailing support@douse.app.
What that screen looks like
Adding a support person happens inside a Douse account, so the form is not publicly reachable. This is an exact reproduction of it, including the consent disclosure shown above the button — the wording below is rendered from the same source the live form uses, so the two cannot differ.

3. Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to stop all further texts from that number. You will receive a single confirmation and then no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe.
Reply HELP for help, or email support@douse.app.
4. Costs and carriers
Message and data rates may apply. Douse does not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier may. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or using Douse.
5. Privacy
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging provider that delivers the messages on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
